Celebration of 25th Anniversary of Genshagen Foundation Took Place in Berlin Yesterday
Polish Foreign Minister travels to Berlin to reassert German-Polish relations
June 11th, 2019The Polish Foreign Minister expresses satisfaction regarding relations between Germany and Poland and states need for further cooperation and EU enlargement at the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Genshagen Foundation, which took place yesterday in Berlin.
Poland’s deputy foreign minister, Law and Justice MP Szymon Szynkowski aka Sęk, has travelled to Berlin for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Genshagen Foundation, which focuses on EU dialogue and on the Weimar Triangle (France, Germany, Poland). Moreover, the FM has also met with the Minister-President of Brandenburg Dietmar Woidke and with the vice-chairman of the Bundestag.
The aim of the celebration was to revitalize the relationships among the Weimar Triangle, jointly support EU enlargement policy, and re-emphasise the historical memory of WWII, as stated by the Polish FM during the event. Szynkowski aka Sęk has also expressed his admiration and support for the work carried out by the Brandenburg government, which meets Polish expectations in the implementation of the provisions of the ‘Polish-German Treaty on Good Neighborliness and friendly cooperation’ regarding the rights of the Polish community in Germany.
