Celebrating Kosovo’s Independence in Berlin
Diplomatic event highlights cultural exchange and international relations
May 07th, 2026On February 23, 2026, the Embassy of Kosovo in Germany hosted a special event in Berlin marking 18 years since the independence of Kosovo. The gathering brought together members of the diplomatic community and international stakeholders to commemorate this milestone and reflect on Kosovo’s development and global engagement since 2008. The Academy for Cultural Diplomacy attended the event as a guest.
The event was attended by key representatives of Kosovo’s political leadership, including Glauk Konjufca, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo. His participation highlighted the importance of strengthening Kosovo’s international presence and diplomatic partnerships. Also present was Faruk Ajeti, Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Germany, whose role continues to be central in fostering bilateral relations between Kosovo and Germany.
The celebration provided an opportunity to acknowledge Kosovo’s achievements over nearly two decades of statehood, including progress in democratic governance, international recognition, and cultural outreach. At the same time, the event emphasized the role of cultural diplomacy as a tool for dialogue, cooperation, and mutual understanding in international relations.
