Brazil’s National Day Celebrated in Berlin
Strengthening Diplomacy Between Brazil and Germany
September 17th, 2025On 12 September 2025, the Embassy of Brazil in Berlin hosted a vibrant celebration of Brazil’s National Day, marking the country’s Independence on 7 September. Ambassador Rodrigo Baena Soares, together with his wife, Mrs. Luciana Baena Soares, warmly welcomed distinguished guests from the German government, representatives of Brazilian and German civil society, and members of the Brazilian community in Germany.
The event brought together more than 800 attendees, reflecting the strong ties between Brazil and Germany. Among the prominent guests were Dr. Géza Andreas von Geyr, State Secretary of the German Federal Foreign Office; Dr. Georg Witschel, President of the Deutsch-Brasilianische Gesellschaft; and Mr. Rafael Fonteles, Governor of the State of Piauí.
By bringing together leaders, institutions and citizens, the Brazilian Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Brazil’s identity while fostering meaningful connections with German partners. Through a vibrant exchange, the National Day celebration showcased the richness of Brazilian heritage and its contribution to global cultural dialogue.
In doing so, the Embassy of Brazil in Berlin positioned itself once again as a dynamic hub for diplomacy, reinforcing the bonds of friendship between Brazil and Germany.
