The Embassy of Brazil, together with A Livraria and Mondo Libro, is organizing an authentic cultural exchange festival. This is where debates happen among Brazilians and Germans about art, culture and contemporary events.

Originally this project started as a literature festival, but soon it grew. Now it's a place for Brazilian authors in the field of cinema, theater, and music to present their works and cooperate with their new home country.

This all began when several Brazilian authors came to Frankfurt's Book Fair six years ago. At that time, the idea arose to bring them to Berlin and organize a festival. Thus, "Brasilien trifft Berlin was born.

A bookshop entitled A Livraria was responsible for the management of the event. Later the Embassy of Brazil joined and gave life to the festival. This year there is a full program that includes readings, performances, concerts, theater, children's programs, exhibitions, and debates. It's going to take place in different venues around Berlin, in particular in the Embassy of Brazil.

With this festival, Brazil and Germany engage together within an event that celebrates intercultural dialogue, shared thoughts and concerns, and so it serves a prosperous example of cultural diplomacy.
