The UN Peacekeeping Ministerial Conference, to be held in Berlin on May 13 and 14, 2025, will bring together Foreign and Defense Ministers from around the world to address current and future challenges faced by UN peacekeeping missions. Co-organized by the German Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Federal Ministry of Defense, with the support of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community in the police components, this event will be crucial in charting a new course for global peacekeeping efforts.

During the event, new strategies to enhance the effectiveness of UN peacekeeping missions will be presented and discussed. Delegates will also share specific commitments to strengthen support for these operations. This conference offers a unique opportunity to coordinate international efforts and define the next steps toward more efficient peacekeeping.

As a leading force in global peace initiatives, Germany is positioning itself at the forefront of long-term solutions for peacekeeping. The goal is to improve the effectiveness of missions, increase acceptance of blue helmet operations, and ensure the safety of deployed personnel. Through this involvement, the country reaffirms its commitment to peace and stability on the international stage.

Germany ranks among the top contributors to UN peacekeeping missions, providing 6.1% of the global budget for these operations, making it the fourth-largest donor. Additionally, it leads the list of nations funding extrabudgetary projects. The country also actively participates with military, police, and civilian personnel in various peacekeeping missions and bilateral stabilization efforts, further strengthening its role as a key player in this area.

This event will not only mark a milestone in the evolution of peacekeeping missions but will also reinforce Germany's role in promoting a multilateral approach to global security. Through its diplomatic, operational, and financial contributions, the country continues to play a pivotal role in pursuing lasting and sustainable peace.
