The Berlin University Alliance hosted its annual networking event with partners from academia in Brazil to foster scientific cooperation between Germany and Brazil.

The Berlin University Alliance (BUA), composed of Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, successfully held its annual networking event on June 26 at the Brazilian Embassy.

The event aimed to foster collaboration between Berlin-based institutions and Brazilian partners, drawing over 150 guests from the BUA institutions.

The attendees were students and researchers from Brazil along with scholars engaged in Brazil-related research.

Jeremias Martins Neto, Head of Science, Technology & Innovation and Cooperation at the Brazilian Embassy, opened the event with a welcoming speech.

Representatives from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the German Academic Exchange Service, the German Research Foundation, and the Network of Brazilian Researchers in Germany (Apoena) attended, offering advice, and engaging with participants at information booths.

The BUA institutions maintain robust partnerships with Brazilian counterparts and seek to enhance the visibility of these collaborations.

They aim to create networking opportunities for Berlin’s academic community, fostering deeper academic and research ties.

All three universities are supporters of the German House of Science and Innovation (DWIH) in São Paulo.
