Berlin Reception Welcomes Newly Arrived Ambassadors and Diplomats

Partnerships and dialogue highlight Germany’s diplomatic engagement

On March 12th 2026, Berlin’s diplomatic community gathered at the Waldorf Astoria Berlin, in order to welcome newly arrived foreign diplomats. Representatives from the Bundestag, German ministries, associations as well as partner organisations joined the gathering in an evening of professional exchange, cultural hospitality, and dialogue across sectors.

On March 12, 2026 Berlin welcomed newly accredited foreign diplomats alongside representatives from the Bundestag, German ministries, and partner organisations. The gathering provided a platform for professional discussions, networking, and the introduction of new envoys to Berlin’s international and diplomatic community.

The event was part of the Foreign Council On Economic Relations (FCER) programme, a Berlin-based organisation dedicated to economic diplomacy and international dialogue. FCER’s initiatives create forums for discussion among diplomats, government officials, business leaders, and association representatives, focusing on topics such as trade, investment, policy, and bilateral cooperation.

The FCER, also conducts briefings and dialogue sessions for newly arrived diplomats, covering areas such as security, infrastructure, and finance. Maximilian Hoffmann serves as President of the organisation, guiding its programmes that foster networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing between diplomatic missions and German stakeholders.The event took place at the Waldorf Astoria Berlin, a venue frequently used for high-level diplomatic and professional gatherings. The participation of newly accredited diplomats, parliamentary members, ministry officials, and representatives of partner organisations encouraged dialogue and networking, strengthening both professional and cross-cultural connections.

The gathering highlighted the importance of structured professional engagement and collaboration within Berlin’s diplomatic landscape. By connecting foreign envoys with partners, it reinforced Berlin's role as a hub for international dialogue and partnership.
