The Embassy of India to Germany, in collaboration with the Tagore Centre, is proud to present the inaugural Indian Film Festival Germany (IFF Germany), a groundbreaking celebration of contemporary Indian cinema that has been gaining increasing recognition in Germany.

Scheduled for January 10-12, 2025, the festival features over 40 screenings, exclusive premieres, dynamic Q&A sessions, a glamorous opening Gala in Berlin, and additional screenings and panel discussions in Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Munich. This makes IFF Germany one of the largest non-commercial Indian film festivals held outside of India.

The carefully curated selection of films covers a wide spectrum of genres, formats, and languages, from commercial feature films to independent films and shorts. The festival offers audiences the opportunity to explore the rich diversity of India's regions, lifestyles, and perspectives. Each screening provides a deep insight into the cultural richness and artistic brilliance of Indian cinema, encouraging viewers to challenge their assumptions and biases as they navigate the balance between traditional storytelling and innovative visual techniques.

This pioneering event highlights Indian cinema’s unique ability to cross cultural boundaries and create a shared storytelling experience that connects people across the globe. Often referred to as the heartbeat of the nation, Indian cinema mirrors the country’s diversity, creativity, and resilience. The festival has already garnered an enthusiastic response in Berlin, as well as in Hamburg, Munich, and Frankfurt, becoming a powerful symbol of cultural collaboration and connection through the universal language of cinema.

Supported by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, IFF Germany invites viewers to celebrate the timeless creativity and boundless imagination of Indian storytelling.
