Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art

News from Berlin - From the 29th of May to the 3rd of August the 8th Biennale for Contemporary Art will be presented in Berlin. The exhibition will be carried out in four striking places of the city : Haus am Waldsee, Dalhem Museum, KW Institute for Contemporary Art and the Crash Pad in the KW.
It is organized by the KW Institute for Contemporary Art and supported by the "Kulturstiftung des Bundes", e.g. the German Federal Culture Foundation.
The Berlin Biennale was created in 1998 and since then it has been developing, achieving a relevant position in the worldwide panorama of contemporary art. It is now part of the European Biennale Network.
"The 8. Berlin Biennale brings together a range of international artistic positions that explore the intersection between larger historical narratives and individuals’ lives", said Juan A. Gaitán, the curator for this year.
Till now, eightteen Artists are supposed to exhibit their works, here are some examples. Agatha Gothe-Snape, an artist based in Sydney, presents texts composed by slogans, word combinations and short phrases. Also Zachary Cahill, an artist based in Chicago, who has already exhibited his art several times in Germany and Europe. He will present his project "USSA Wellness Center", which considers the interaction between art, therapy and indeed the concept of "wellness", in the context of global crisis. Or once more, Saâdane Afif,a French artist who works and lives in Berlin and presents his work "Là-bas", a project composed by two parts: "here" and "there".
