Europe's largest platform for partnership-based dialogue between Germany and Asia

The 11th Asia-Pacific Weeks (APW), Europe's largest platform for partnership-based dialogue between Germany and Asia, will take place from 23 May to 3 June 2016 in Berlin. It is dedicated to startups and their ecosystems under the slogan "Asia-Europe Innovation Dialogue".

Since 1997 the APW have offered a unique European platform for an interdisciplinary, European-Asian dialogue. Relevant institutional players from the business, science, cultural and political sectors will meet with the purpose of networking and cooperating in practice, since Asia-Pacific is a region with enormous growth rates. The themes will be addressed in different formats such as workshops, panels, expert-led tours and exhibitions.

The motto of the APW in 2016 is "Smart Cities" which is an urban development vision to integrate multiple information and communication technology solutions in a secure fashion to manage a city’s assets as efficiently as possible. APW will be opened by Federal Minister Peter Altmaier, Senator Cornelia Yzer, the German business world, as well as representatives of the Asian-Pacific partner countries at Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry on May 23. Day 2 is the Embassy Day and it will be held at the European School of Management and Technology. Embassies will be leading their own business seminars and workshops for founders, companies and investors as well as foreign trade conferences and present country-specific highlights. From May 25 – 27, 2016 there will be 3 day conference program about „Connecting Startup Cities“.  During the second event week of the APW, the Conference Metropolitan Solutions will take place. It will address the topic of „Smart Cities’’. And from May 23 - June 3, 2016 there will be Partner program - an extensive and diverse partner program with exhibitions and events.

The Asia-Pacific Weeks Berlin are organized by the Asia-Pacific Forum Berlin e.V. in close cooperation with the Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Research and with Berlin Partner GmbH.
