The Arab Cinema will also feature at the 2016 International Berlin festival which will be held from the 11th until the 21st of February. The Arab Cinema industry will have the opportunity to prove its talent on the big screen at this international festival.

The premiere at the festival of the Arab movie titled “Inhebbek Hedi” directed by the Tunisian film director Mohamed Ben Attia, will be the one representing the Arab region. There are 17 other international movies to be played at the Festival that will compete with Ben Attia’s movie in order to gain Berlinale’s prestigious Golden and Silver Bear Awards.

Ben Attia’s movie is based on the story of a young man that has always been mobbed by people around him, but everything starts to change once he falls in love with a girl that strengthens him to take control of his own life. The film “Inhebbek Hedi” is the first feature film of the director Ben Attia.

Regarding what is known as the festival’s “Forum expanded”, there will be eight Arab movies that will be exhibited to view there and different works made by Arab artists will be displayed at this forum so that they can be observed by everyone. The Berlinale, which is the 2016 International Berlin Festival website, stated that the films and the different works that can be found at this forum represent “collective fantasies or geo- political realities of various different manifestations”.

The activities of the 2016 Arab Cinema Center will be hosted by more than 15 festivals that are to be organized all around the world this year. The Arab Cinema Center will give out a magazine during the Berlinale to inform people about the prospect of film festival destinations and to provide updates on the Arab Film market.

The 2016 International Berlin Festival is considered one of the world’s most important cultural events, therefore it will include the assistance of numerous filmmakers and artists from the world’s five continents and with the presence of international film markets.
