The Angolan Secretary of State for Industry and Commerce, Ivan Magalhães do Prado, visited Berlin on March 12 to participate in the "Conference on the Future of Small and Medium Enterprises." The conference, organized by the Federal Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (BVMW e.V. Mittelstand), focused on digitalization, energy transition, new jobs, mobility, and connectivity.

Prado's visit aimed to attract investment to Angola's priority development sectors as part of the government's economic diversification plan. He emphasized Angola's political stability, legal modernization, and infrastructure development, highlighting the nation's goal of achieving economic self-sufficiency and competitiveness. Angola is regionally integrated with the African Continental Free Trade Area and SADC and is open to international trade.

Prado called for German investment in Angola's agriculture, fisheries, minerals, transport, technology, services, and manufacturing sectors. He stressed the importance of small and medium enterprises and the need for diversified economic growth.

During his stay, Prado and Angolan entrepreneurs engaged with German business leaders. He invited attendees to explore investment opportunities in Angola. The forum was attended by around four thousand guests, including German government officials, ambassadors, heads of state, and representatives from over fifty global companies.
