At a reception marking the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Ambassador Wu Ken bid farewell to representatives from various social circles in Germany. Reflecting on his tenure, which is soon coming to an end, Ambassador Wu expressed that it had been an honor to serve as the 11th Chinese ambassador to Germany. He described his role as a bridge-builder between two great nations, emphasizing his commitment to fostering friendship, strengthening cooperation, and promoting understanding between China and Germany.

Ambassador Wu remarked that the past five years have been particularly challenging due to the global impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical conflicts. Despite these difficulties, he highlighted the enduring stability of the Sino-German relationship, which has remained a key factor in the broader context of China-Europe relations. Wu praised the pragmatic cooperation between the two countries, underscoring the strategic role of political leaders in maintaining an active dialogue and the success of numerous economic and trade projects that have demonstrated the mutual benefits of their partnership.

He extended his gratitude to the German government for its support and to all German partners from various sectors, including politics, business, media, education, and culture, for their constructive cooperation. Wu also expressed his appreciation to the Chinese community in Germany, including expatriates, employees of Chinese companies, and students, for their efforts in strengthening the ties between the two nations.

Looking ahead, Ambassador Wu voiced his hope that China and Germany would continue to collaborate as partners, building on mutual respect, finding common ground despite differences, and pursuing exchange, mutual learning, and win-win cooperation.
