UNIDO is set to host a session on the Third Industrial Development Decade for Africa (IDDA III) during the Summit. This session will explore the impact and future prospects of the initiative, emphasizing the need for increased efforts to strengthen industrial growth across Africa. Ambassador Makoloo reaffirmed Kenya's full support for these efforts. The discussions also covered the strengthening of UNIDO’s Field Office in Nairobi, expanding the portfolio of UNIDO projects in Kenya, and collaborative efforts to enhance Africa’s representation within the UN system. The conversation also touched on the Africa Green Industrialisation Initiative (AGII) and the opportunities for collaboration, given the alignment of the initiative with UNIDO’s programs.

Kenya remains grateful for UNIDO's steadfast support of the African industrialization agenda. The country continues to commend Director General Müller for his commitment to advancing industry-focused solutions that address the continent's most pressing challenges. These challenges include mitigating the stark impact of climate change, creating employment opportunities for the youth, increasing manufacturing and value addition in Africa, ensuring food security, and promoting smart agriculture technologies, among others.
