Slovak Embassy Invites Public to a Series of Cultural Events in November

You can experience Slovak art and culture in different exhibitions held in Berlin

The Embassy of Slovakia in Berlin is organizing events related to 50th anniversary of the suppression of the "Prague Spring", the 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia and many more.

If you haven’t visited yet, there are still a few outgoing events related to Slovakia and its culture this month. For example, until November 21, as a part of the European Month of Photograpahy, you can visit the photo exhibition “Two Houses of one Lord” in the Slovak Institute in Berlin. Artists Ľubo and Monika Stacho are trying to point on common Jewish-Christian roots of European culture and the risks of mental neglect and loss of identity.

Until December 16 you can visit the exhibition „Es lebe unsere gerechte Sache!“. German Resistance Memorial in cooperation with the Historical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, which is remembering the Slovak national Uprising from the final months of World War II. The event takes place in the Forum of the Bergen-Belsen Memorial. For more information you can visit Bergen-Belsen Memorial website.

In the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Berlin is an exposition of contemporary Slovak glass art “Pozor SKlo” (Caution Fragile!). The collection focuses on the glass design and history represented by the only functioning glass factory in Slovakia. To visit, Embassy of Slovakia kindly asks you for an appointment.

The European Information Center, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic and the Slovak Institute in Berlin as well as the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, is opening the exhibition "Alexander Dubček - the human face of politics", marking the 50th anniversary of the suppression of the "Prague Spring". After the grand opening on November 13 at 17:00 the exhibition will be available until December 12.

There are a variety of events also for children available, as the Slovakian Embassy is participating in Berlin Fairytale days. The Embassy will present the fairy tale “Marushka and the twelve months” on November 14th at 10:00.
Finally, the Slovak Embassy in Berlin opens the exhibition “Party in the 21st century” reverting to traditional values and bringing them back to life in an original and modern way. To visit the opening 28.11.2018 at 18:00, registration is needed and can be done via email veranstaltungen.berlin@mzv.sk.
