On September 30th has taken place the International Conference, “A Feminist Agenda for the Future”, where UN Women Germany, the Embassy of Mexico in Berlin and the UN Association of Germany have explored the feminist dimensions of key UN process, referring to the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the brand-new Pact for the Future and the Agenda 2030.

The Conference took place after the conclusion of the Summit of the Future, which was hold in New York during 22nd and 23rd of September 2024. This Summit is the completion of a multi-year process to adopt a Pact for the Future of the United Nations. Besides, this International Conference opened to the opportunity to present the latest analysis on progress made towards gender equality, social change, and stability of the international system, also in the context of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

About the Beijing Declaration and the Platform for Action, it was adopted by 189 countries at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, in 1995. This Declaration is considered the fundamental global policy document on gender equality. It establishes strategic objectives and actions for the progress of women and girls and the achievement of gender equality in 12 critical areas of concern.

As the 30th anniversary is approaching, it's crucial to explore additional topics that warrant attention, identify gaps in implementation, and understand the priorities participants are raising. This information will be essential for informing the political dialogue.
