On the 30th of September 2022, events venue ‘Loophole’ will host ‘A Different Kettle of Fish’: an evening of spoken word and Irish music, in collaboration with the Embassy of Ireland.

The event will be led by a surprise special-guest Irish artist but will take place also with Berlin-based Irish artists, who can utilise the open-mic format to show off the Irish culture and language.

The Irish community living in Germany has been on the rise in recent years, with a population of approximately 10,000 in 2010, to now 35,000 in 2021. On the other hand, Germany is the third largest source of tourists for Ireland, with approximately 680,000 visitors in 2017, showing a mutual fascination between the nations. Why not get a taste of the rich Irish culture on German soil by paying a visit to the session?

Tickets are free to reserve, and anyone with a contribution of a song or poem is welcome to join, promising a night of ‘craic agus ceol’ (fun and music). Guests can learn more about Ireland through a diverse and entertaining range of artists, featuring music, readings, or other interesting pieces.
