The 16th Kazakh-German Business Council Meeting focused on bilateral economic cooperation opportunities. Attendees included management representatives from Baiterek National Managing Holding, members of the Kazakh and German business communities, and officials from relevant ministries. During panel discussions, participants explored ways to strengthen economic ties and finance joint projects.

From Kazakhstan’s perspective, Germany is a key partner in advancing strategic priorities in high value-added production and technological collaboration. Development areas of interest include manufacturing, infrastructure, metallurgy, the chemical industry, logistics, and the agro-industrial complex, sectors where German expertise is particularly valuable.

Thanks to productive bilateral cooperation and investment, several strategic projects have been completed, including the construction of a solar power plant, cement and engineering plants, and other industrial facilities involving German companies such as Heidelberg Materials, Zollmann, and Horsch, to name a few.

The enthusiasm regarding the future prospects of this cooperation was illustrated in the words of Michael Harms, Co-Chair and Managing Director of the German Eastern Business Association. He stated: “The stability and predictability of Kazakhstan’s business climate, along with its readiness for structural reforms and technological partnerships, make the country one of Germany’s key partners in Central Asia.”

Documents were signed during the meeting, with the aim of promoting industrial cooperation, technological partnerships, and facilitating the implementation of joint investment projects. According to the Kazakhstan Embassy to Germany, the meeting concluded in an atmosphere of confidence that “the discussions held would contribute to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation.”
