People from Germany love winter sports – during the last Olympics Games in 2014 they ended up 6th place with 19 medals. But these statistics do not really show to what extent Germans are devoted to snowy activities. One of the reasons for this love, is probably that their ski resorts are some of the best in the world.

Beautiful, wonderful Bavaria is situated in the southern part of Germany and it is the biggest state in Germany. With the magnificent Alps mountains, Bavaria is widely known, not only for the famous beer celebration “Oktoberfest” but also for its extraordinary ski resorts, hotels and winter attractions.

It would be near impossible to note all the names of the famous ski resorts in Bavaria as the amount is innumerable. One of the best is Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a place also known for the infamous ski jumping competition. The official slogan of the resort presented on the website is: “Discover Your True Nature” and it is probably true. Ski, snowboarding, winter – hiking, snowshoeing, tobogganing, ice sports, segways, riding tracks on rails... Some of the names of the activities offered by Bavarian ski resorts are even hard to understand. The variety of sports that tourists can try their hand at in this region will not leave them feeling bored.

But beautiful mountains and ski resorts are not only for people who are winter-sports fans. In Oberstdorf, for example, tourists can visit ski flying tower and enjoy the wonderful views. For those who prefer other sports, or want to simply try something new, tennis games, horse riding or swimming are also available. Visitors can also enjoy an absolute rest and relaxation in one of many saunas. A lot of hotels also offer spa packages, including luxurious massages.

A lot of young people are coming to the Bavarian region during the winter. The reasons are of course the amazing ski resorts but also amazing parties. All these attractions could be used to convince people who hate the cold that winter can be the best season of the year.
