The Upcoming German-Vietnamese Cooperation in the Field of Military Defense

The visit of a high-ranking Vietnamese Defense Delegation in Germany

The Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister, Sen. Lt. General Nguyen Chi Vinh met the Germany’s Defense State Secretary Peter Tauber from June 10th to June 15th in Berlin.

During this meeting, they discussed the security situations in Europe and in Pacific Asia and the state of their defense relationship. Moreover, they both decided to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries for achieving a worldwide peace within the UN-missions, notably the UN peacekeeping operations.

Sen. Lt. General Nguyen Chi Vinh agreed on the finalization of Germany’s first-ever permanent resident defense attaché to Hanoi, which represents another step for a further development of a strategic partnership between Germany and Vietnam.

In the program of the visit there were other important appointments, as well. This included meetings with the German Foreign Minister and a visit to the Center for International Peace Operations.
