The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Berlin Will Participate in the European Sustainable Development Week 2019

Czech Embassy to host event within the context of this year’s European Sustainable Development Week

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Berlin welcomes visitors to its event “Sustainability without Peace, Peace without Democracy?”, which is the Czech Republic’s contribution to the European Sustainable Development Week 2019.

On June 3rd, 2019, the event hosted by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Berlin will focus on how the various aspects of the Sustainable Development Goals such as peace, good governance, the rule of law, and participatory decision-making can be realized, and what the current status on these planned achievements is. The event under the title “Sustainability without Peace, Peace without Democracy?” includes brief 10-minute talks by distinguished experts of the field as well as an open discussion and reception after the presentations.

Guests who have confirmed their attendance are, among others, H.E. Tomáš Jan Podivínský, the Ambassador to the Czech Republic in Germany, Šimon Pánek, the CEO of the humanitarian organization “People in Need”, and Gottfried von Gemmingen-Guttenberg, the Director for the 2030 Agenda at the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The event will be held in English and take place at the Czech Embassy in Wilhelmstraße 44, 10117 Berlin. The program begins at 3PM and runs until 5:30PM. Only registered guests will be allowed to attend.
