The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Nairobi visits Berlin
‘’Tracing the reformation and the Anglican History’’ was the theme of the retreat in Berlin

The Kenyan Embassy in Berlin met the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Nairobi, the Rt. Rev. Joel Waweru and the delegation of the Diocesan clergy and their spouses.
On October 13th 2019, Ms Hellen Rosa Kagwanja, Second Counsellor acting in charge at the Embassy of Kenya, accompanied by Ms. Emma Malinda, the head of the Consular Section, met with the delegation of the Anglican Diocese of Nairobi, in Berlin.
The Anglican Church of Kenya is a province of the Anglican Communion and is composed of 39 dioceses, several institutions and theological colleges. Nairobi Diocese, which is within the Anglican Church of Kenya, is part of the wider Anglican Communion, that has 70 million members. The history of the Anglican church of Kenya dates back to 1844, when the first missionary from the Church Missionary Society, Dr. Johann Ludwig Krapf, arrived in Mombasa. At present Anglican Church of Kenya has grown considerably and has 5 million members, an impressive number considering that Kenya’s population is roughly 40.5 million people.
This visit is representative of a constructive and positive interaction between people. Dialogue enables the believers of each religion to realize their social responsibility and to encourage them to work for social change.
