News from Berlin – Social appreciation is receiving more and more attention from the civil society and the world of employment. Germanwatch, a German Non-Governmental Organization, has organized a summit from June 12th-13th in Berlin to focus on issues of social appreciation and rethinking societal questions - in particular with the theme of having ‘Courage for Appreciation – Making Society Sustainable’.

The need for a sense of appreciation is growing and creating a window of opportunity for appreciative action in society and in business. But what does appreciation mean in politics, economy and the global world? How does appreciation make society more sustainable? And how is appreciation implemented in everyday life? These are just some of the questions that will be discussed and answered during the summit.

The Social Summit 2014 gathers decision makers and proponents of social appreciation together as a means of advocating and spreading awareness of an appreciative society. The summit will be joined by Klaus Milke, chairman of the board of directors of Germanwatch on a discussion of ‘What chances does appreciative action provide for a sustainable society?’.
