News from Berlin - Contemporary art gallery ‘Dittrach & Schlechtriem’ in Berlin will host a solo exhibition of young Slovak artist Andrej Dubravsky for the first time. The exhibition, entitled ‘Do You Want to Live Like Me?’ will be exhibited in the gallery until June 21st. The installation consists of a number of large scale, stretched and unstretched, acrylic and oil paintings that reflect the artist’s controversial, expressive and provocative style. He takes inspiration from old great artists and social issues. His paintings are focused on unorthodox themes like homosexuality or intergenerational relationships. In his paintings he depicts mainly male figures in sentimental traditional landscapes to whom he paints bunny ears. They are a symbol of adolescence, inquiring into the identity and narcissistic self-representation of the author.

Andrej Dubravky was born in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. His professional career started during secondary education when he studied stone sculpture. After that he changed his focus. In 2013 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, since painting gave him the freedom to express himself. Despite his young age, his art has gained recognition and his expositions have been held in many world metropolis.
