‘Notturno’ Music Night
Frederic Chopin’s Nocturnes Performed by Polish Pianist Aleksandra Mikulska

Frederic Chopin’s Nocturnes tracks are inspired by twilight, time of silence and reflection, and were received with great applause when performed by Polish pianist Aleksandra Mikulska. The performance was part of the summer concert in the Hunting Palace in Grunewald, and was attended by guests of the Polish Ambassador Jerzy Margański, on July 17th.
The Ambassador invited German politicians, representing culture, science and media. There was also a surprise appearance from the German First Lady, Mrs. Daniela Schadt. Mrs. Mikulska performed the most famous works of the genre, such as the Nocturne in C Minor, op. 48, no. 1, tone the two cockerels will fight, with a dramatic part.. She also performed the popular early Nocturne in E-flat Major, op. 9, no. 2.
Throughout the concert, guests had the opportunity to connect with the creative work of one of the most famous Polish composers of all time. There was a fantastic atmosphere and the guests who attended were impressed with the performance. We cannot forget to mention the performer herself. Pianist Aleksandra Mikulska studied at the Academy of Music in Karlsruhe, and before completing her Masters at the Accademia Pianistica Internazionale, "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola in Italy. She is the president of the F. Chopin Society in Germany, whose headquarters are situated in Darmstadt, as well as vice-president of the German-Polish Society of Baden-Württemberg, based in Stuttgart, and a member of the Society K. Szymanowski in Zakopane.
Through these kinds of events we can share knowledge of Polish art and culture, and extend cooperation between the two nations – Poland and Germany, especially with the events taking place in locations such as the Embassies. Now a little about the Hunting Palace, where the concert took place. The shooting lodge is built in the Renaissance style between 1542 and 1543, for the Brandenburg Elector Joachim II of Hohenzollern. The Palace is a popular tourist attraction, and is managed by the Foundation for Prussian Castles and Gardens, who often host special exhibitions and events.
