News from Berlin – Sunday May 18th will see the 37th International Day of Museums with participating institutions from all over Germany. Approximately 1,500 museums following the motto “Sammeln Verbindet – Museum Collections Make Connections” will allow visitors to attend workshops, speeches and special guided tours.

With its collections, museums build bridges between the past and the present and hence between different generations. Especially in today’s rapidly changing world these collections maintain cultural heritage and assure identity. The International Day of Museums was created to make people aware of the important work of museums. It is also a perfect opportunity for visitors to explore the diversity of covered subjects (art, nature, culture and science), as well as to get to know the cultural riches of German museums.

‘Tauchsportclub Adlershof e.V.’ will embrace the opportunity to open their new scuba-diving museum with a diverse program about the development of diving.

Several museums in Berlin will participate in the event and some of them will also offer free entrance. Visitors with a ticket for the Long Night can use their ticket on Sunday as well.
