On the 22th of January, the German-French day has taken place and, onthis occasion, President Emmanuel Macron and Chancellor Angela Merkel signed the “Aachen Treaty” in order to strengthen the France and Germany friendship. 63 Years after chancellor Konrad Adenauer et President Charles de Gaulle signed the “Elysée Treaty” in 1963 to bring about Franco-German reconciliation after the war.

This new Treaty aims to complement the former one. In particular, it provides for a convergence of the economic, foreign and defense policies of the two countries, as well as enhanced parliamentary cooperation.
