The Embassy of United Arab Emirates in Berlin

United Arab Emirates was established in December 1971. Following the establishment of diplomatic relations between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) in 1976, the UAE opened its first Embassy in Bonn, the former capital of the FRG. The office building of the Embassy is located on the line and near the city center.

After the German reunification in 1990, Berlin became the capital of the FRG. In 2002, the UAE Embassy moved to Berlin and left an outpost in Bonn, which provides services to the UAE nationals and delegations visiting West Germany.

On Tuesday April 27^th , 2004 in the presence of the former German Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan (the then UAE Deputy Prime Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs) inaugurated the official building of the UAE Embassy, which is located in the heart of Berlin near by the government ministries, federal and regional institutions, historic monuments and shopping centers. 

The building of the UAE Embassy in Berlin is characterized by its style of Arabic and Islamic architecture. It has become a cultural monument, which attracts German interested citizens and a lot of tourists visiting Berlin. It is a message of love, kindness and tolerance from the UAE people to the friendly German nation and a symbol for friendship and co-operation between both countries.
