On July 20th, Michael Müller will hold a speech at the wreath-laying commemoration ceremony for the 75th anniversary of the uprising against the National Socialists at Ehrenhof des Bendlerblocks, Stauffenbergstraße 13-14, 10785 Berlin.

Since 1952, on 20th of July, all those who stood up and opposed the National Socialists’ regime of terror are commemorated. This year, the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Michael Müller, confirmed his participation at the event in a press-release.
According to Michael Müller, the historical act of 1944 sends a message of freedom and respect for human dignity. He stressed that the historical act of the resistance against the National Socialist regime is deeply connected with our present and future because it taught us that freedom and human rights must be fought, preserved and defended.

The Governing Mayor added that today it is barely possible to gauge what it means to live in a criminal state and to risk everything for standing up for your convictions and for human values, therefore those who resisted the National Socialist tyranny, especially those silent heroes who  protected the persecuted, deserve to be commemorated.

Today, on the eve of July 20, Michael Müller will speak at 6.30 pm at the reception for survivors of the uprising in the Rotes Rathaus.
