Amb. Franc But
Amb. Franc But has a degree in Agricultural Sciences and a Masters in Management. He speaks German, English, Croatian, Serbian, French and Czech and has been the Slovenian Ambassador to Germany since September 2017. Amb. Franc But has been active in the agricultural and forestry sector for a long time and then became the ambassador of Slovenia to the Czech Republic (2006-2012) and after to Serbia (2010-2014). He has also worked in the Ministry for Foreign Relations in the departments of Economic Diplomacy, Southeast Europe and EU enlargement and Bilateral Economic Cooperation.
Germany and Slovenia established diplomatic relations on the 15th of January 1992. The relations between the two states are both positive and harmonious. Germany has an embassy in Ljubljana and Slovenia has an embassy in Berlin and a general consulate in Munich. Both countries are full members of NATO and the European Union. In recent times, numerous high-level visits have highlighted the friendly relations between the two states.
