News from Berlin – The embassy of Belarus in Germany and the Russisches Haus der Wissenschaft und Kultur (Russian House of Culture and Science) are going to have an exhibition on photography and documents in honour of the 70th anniversary of the freeing of Belarus from the fascist occupation.

The exhibition is titled ‘Land von Mut und Ruhm’ (Land of Courage and Glory). It will display various photographs and documents in honour of the defeat of the fascist occupation. The 70th anniversary is an important event highlight for Belarus and the president Alexander Lukashenko stressed that the 70th anniversary is more important than any world championship.

"This year we are opening the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War. This is a unique museum in the post-Soviet space, in the world and in Europe. We had to build it because many started to forget about that period of history, about the heroism of our people, the Ukrainians, Russians and other peoples of the Soviet Union in the name of the fatherland. It is very important for young people," said the Belarusian leader.

The exhibition will take place from June 26th till August 31st at the Russisches Haus der Wissenschaft und Kultur, Friedrichstr. 176-179, 10117 Berlin, Foyer Ebene 2
