News from Berlin - On May 7th the Brazilian Embassy in Berlin will organize a lecture with Christian Müller, the Director of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Rio de Janeiro, alongside the spokesman for the German Center for Science and Innovation in São Paulo. The topic of the lecture will be ‘Science Without Borders - Opportunities Without Limits? The Internationalization of Education and Research in Brazil’.

The DAAD is the coordination center of the scholarships program ‘Science Without Borders’, which was launched in 2011 by the Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, and is considered to be one of the most important initiatives undertaken during her tenure. In fact, this initiative will allow 100,000 Brazilians to study abroad; up to 10,000 Brazilians are estimated to be attending German universities already.

Undoubtedly, the Science Without Borders Program has become one of the most important mechanisms of German-Brazilian relations and has a crucial role in advancing Brazilian culture abroad. The event will be hosted at the Brazilian Embassy in Berlin; guests will be expected to arrive at 7pm.
