Indian Embassy Screening the Bollywood Movie - Eklavya

News from Berlin - This month, once again the Indian Embassy will be hosting of a bollywood movie screening. This time, the chosen movie is Eklavya.

It is  a dark revenge epic à la Shakespeare that Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra created with the help of the top stars of Hindi cinema a romantic and haunting thriller beyond the usual colorful Bollywood pomp and show. The movie is about the death of a Princess in today's Rajasthan that leads a renegade prince (Saif Ali Khan) back home. In a farewell letter to his mother, he learns that his real father is Eklavya (Amitabh Bachchan), the slowly blinding bodyguard of the prince. But this is not the only dark secret which is guarded by the mighty palace walls. Intrigues and an attempt on the Prince reveal the depths of a dying empire.

The Indian Embassy has regularly hosted such screenings in order to spread bollywood movies, especially the ones which focus on one or many of the Indian Cultures, in order to spread knowledge about the culture in Berlin. Over the lastfew months the Embassy has attracted many people, with seats filling up completely at every screening!

The screening of the movie will take place in embassy itself at 1800 on 16th July in the German Language, and don't take forget to take your identity cards.
