The Czech Center Berlin is the part of the Czech Centres chain that is financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Since 1993, Czech Centres have been introducing Czech culture and promoting dialogue between Czech and German society and media. The Czech Centre Berlin supports exchange projects in Germany and provides their cooperation with both Germany and the Czech Republic.

The event “Behind the touristic clichés” is set to take place on 30.10.2018 starting from 19:00 and going until 00:00. The main contributors of the event are Janek Rubeš and Honza Mikulka, who are the award-winning creators of the Honest Guide. The Honest Guide became one of the most successful projects to show what places in Prague and Czech Republic are really worth a visit and which of them are essentially overrated.

Janek Rubeš and Honza Mikulka have received their fame on the basis of videos showing the “reality” of the tourism and continue to contribute with their quirky inputs even into the present.  The creators of the Honest Guide are famous not only on the national level, but have become known all over the world for their sense of humour and style of traveling. The Honest Guide is also unique in the sense that this is one of the first guides that shows how tourists get scammed by ne’er-do-wells and explore some classic tourist traps.

The event will be held in the main building of the Embassy of Czech Republic in Berlin. If you have an interest in attending the event, there is no charge, but there is a need to confirm your registration, which is available until October 20th.
