On the 17th and 18th of August, the German Federal Government offers the opportunity to gain an insight into everyday political life.

Every year in summer, over one hundred thousand visitors come to this Open Day to look behind the scenes of Berlin political life, and to meet high-profile politicians such as the Federal Chancellor. The event includes talks and activities for children and adults alike, with an opportunity to talk with many cabinet members and their state secretaries. In addition, a rich entertainment programme offers visitors information into how political Berlin works. This may include insights into ministers’ workplace and daily routines.

The Participating Institutions are: the Federal Chancellery, the Federal Press Office and the Federal Ministries. A shuttle bus service provides transport between the participating houses. The general address is: Willy-Brandt-Straße 1 (Berlin, Germany).
