Everybody can Dance: the Unlimited Resources of Music

News from Berlin - The Embassy of Argentina hosted the film Todos Podemos Bailar / All by Dancing, a film by Liliana Furió. The film screened on Wednesday 15th at 19.00 in Spanish with German subtitles. The film was about the story of an innovative project created by the choreographer Susana Gonzalez to make everyone dance. The core of this program is to show how dancing can reignite courage and joy to live for people with disabilities. Many lives have changed because of these experiences and the filmmaker Liliana Furió wanted to echo this important phenomenon, where music and dance have become a type of therapy.

Liliana Furió is a filmmaker who works on documentaries with social and communitarian content. She does, however, put effort on therapeutic activities with people who have different disabilities, and she always tries to do it with creativity and art. She became part of the project Todos podemos bailar, as secretary of the Asociación Danza Integradora Argentina (Argentine Integrating Dance Organization).

This is a group of people, that under the leadership of Susana González, work for the integration of people with disabilities - using dance. According to the information provided by the Argentine website Recusos Culturales; they also work with other cultural and artistic disciplines that contribute to the construction of a better and more inclusive world. It is a way to accept and respect differences by creating new ways of communication towards a culture based on peace.
