The Ambassador of Ecuador in Germany inaugurated last Monday the pictorial exhibition of the Ecuadorian artist, who presented her book at the Embassy of Ecuador in Berlin.

The Ambassador of Ecuador in Germany, Manuel Mejía-Dalmau, inaugurated yesterday the pictorial exhibition of the Ecuadorian artist Nancy Almeida, which can be visited at the Embassy of Ecuador in Berlin-Charlottenburg. In addition, she presented her book, Nuestra comida ecuatoriana y alemana/Unsere Ecuadorianischen und deutschen Gerichte, a recipe book that includes traditional dishes from both countries. During the gathering, Nancy signed some copies of her book.

Nancy Almeida studied interior architecture in Mexico and Ecuador, and then moved to Germany, where she has lived for 40 years. In this country she perfected her artistic skills and experimented with new painting techniques. Since then, her works have been on display in many galleries and international exhibitions. Food is for her a way of coexisting able to illustrate the way of life of families which have different cultural backgrounds.

With this book, Nancy brings the food of Ecuadorians to Germany, and the same to the other way around. The writer has succeeded in familiarizing German and Ecuadorian readers with the delicacies of each culture. Thanks to her, we have now the opportunity to create at home our own traditional dishes with Ecuadorian and German recipes.
