Chancellor Angela Merkel meets with Nabijon Kasimov, Uzbek Ambassador to Germany

The meeting took place in Meseberg, the government’s official resi-dence, amidst a reception for foreign Ambassadors to Germany

The Federal Chancellor and the Ambassador met on the 9th of July, with the purpose of emphasizing the fruitful cooperation between the two countries, as well as to strengthen the existing relationship.

The Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Germany, H. E. Amb. Nabijon Kasimov, met on the 11th of July, during the reception for the different diplomatic missions to Germany taking place at Meseberg, the official governmental residence. During the brief meeting, the two agreed on expressing satisfaction regarding the recent visits of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbek President, to Germany in January, and the one of Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Uzbekistan in May. 

Such a meeting undoubtedly represents a high-profile contribution to the future cooperation between the two countries, which is felt as necessary by both parties vis à vis current global challenges. The meeting concluded with Chancellor Merkel sending her greetings to Shavkat Mirziyoyev through the Ambassador.
