News from Berlin – The foundation C/O Berlin will hold a grand opening at their new location at Amerika Haus in Hardenbergstraße 22-24. For almost two years they did not own an exhibition space and thus now they will open their doors on Thursday October 30th from 4pm onwards and the admission is free.

At the opening they will present four exhibitions at the same time. For this occasion they have invited some old friends, numerous photographers from the Magnum agency and some new aspiring artists. Photographers from the Magnum agency will provide unique insights into their working methods in the exhibition called Contact Sheets. Picture Yourself is another premiere that will be shown at the opening and it consists of specially constructed photo booths that take photos in the style of Magnum photographers. The special guest of the opening is the photographer Will McBride, who will showcase his exhibition entitled “I fell in Love with the City”. He is no stranger to Amerika Haus as his work has been shown before at this location.

C/O Berlin was founded in 2000 and has, since then, been presenting a lively cultural program of international stature. It is an exhibition center for photography that presents the work of renowned artists, promotes talented young artists and takes children on discovery voyages through visual culture. C/O Berlin is a private foundation that distinguishes itself through innovative arts administration. In its fourteen years of existence, photographer Stephan Erfurt, designer Marc Naroska and architect Ingo Pott developed it into a successful exhibition venue with an impressive public presence. Since 2013 C/O is a non-profit foundation with the goal of promoting photography.
