News from Berlin - All around the world, initiatives have been established to bridge the remaining gaps between our world’s people and cultures.  The online platform www.pol-int.org is one of these. It is an international project, initiated by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies about Poland, which is part of the Viadrina European University in Frankfurt an der Oder, Germany, and the Collegium Polonicum in Slubice, Poland.

Though the project was originally just a Polish-German partnership, nowadays it has managed to gather a lot more partners and researchers from all over the world, including, inter alia, Japan, USA, Italy, Austria and the Netherlands. The online portal was created mainly for researchers who work on discovering Polish culture and try to enhance the communication on Polish studies. It is also a place where journalists can discover new issues concerning Polish- German relations.

The online platform is offering information in three languages: Polish, German and English, and is a host for information in the field of research of many different academic disciplines. These include history, cultural studies, linguistics, economics, science, law, political science, sociology, ethnology, history of art and architecture, musicology, theater studies and film, philosophy, gender studies, and geography, with this incredible range of studies being conducted in both Germany and Poland

The project is financed by the Polish-German Foundation for Science,  the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation and the Viadrina European University.
