News from Berlin – Bollywood cinema is one of the most well-known traits of India’s artistic scenery. However, if you do not live there or do not have any particular relationship with its culture, you might never get the chance to enjoy it. This is why in order to satisfy its fans, but also the curiosity of those who do not know it, the Indian Embassy in Berlin is taking on the initiative to present its artistic heritage to the German public.

Next Monday the Embassy will play host to a unique music and dance performance in celebration of one of the most famous Indian poets, Tagore, and also to mark the 100th anniversary since the making of the first Bollywood movie, which was released in 1913. The show is put together by Dr. Ananda Gupta and Ensemble and includes award winning music and dance performances. The spectacle has already travelled through Great Britain and the United States and will be presented in Berlin on May 12th at 18:00. It will take place in the Auditorium of the Embassy of India at Tiergartenstr. 17. The entrance is free for a maximum of 200 guests.
