Vladimir Mikhailovich Grinin is the Ambassador of Russia to Germany in Berlin. His Excellency is serving this function since July 2010.

His Excellency Vladimir Mikhailovich was born November, 15th 1947 in Moscow. After finishing the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1971 he commenced diplomatic work, working at the Soviet Embassy in West Germany from 1973 till 1980. In 1982 he graduated in the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR. In years 1982 till 1986 he participated in Soviet-American negotiations on disbarment and arms control in Geneva. In 1986 His Excellency served to the Soviet Embassy in East Germany and then Germany from 1990-1992.

From 1994 till 1996, Grinin was director of the Fourth European Department at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1996 Boris Yeltsin appointed Vladimir Mikhailovich Grinin to serve as Ambassador of Russia to Austria. His service in Vienna lasted till 2000. After this posting he returned to Moscow, and was appointed by the President of Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin as Ambassador of Russia to Finland in 2003. He held this post until 2006, when he was appointed as Ambassador of Russia to Poland. Since July 2010 Grinin has served as Ambassador of Russia to Germany in Berlin. He speaks Russian, English, German and French.

Embassy of Russia is located in Berlin Mitte in the nearby of the street Unter den Linden. There is also Embassy in Rostock. Consulates are located in Frankurt am Main, Bonn, Munich, Leipzig and Hamburg.
