During this year’s week long celebrations, the French Embassy in Berlin and the Franco-German Youth Office organize a Franco-German Day celebration in Pariser Platz on July 19th. The first film is a 1919 silent film describing romance during the First World War and will be shown on July 16th at 18 hours. La grande illusion will be displayed on the following day from 19:00. It was produced in 1937 and presents the story of two French prisoners and their unsuccessful attempts at escaping. On July 18th the last movie will be featured. It is a 1989 production from Bertrand Tavernier looking at the psychological scars left by the Great War. All the three films are shown at Zeughauskino.
