The 14th edition of the Italian Festival in Bangkok, Thailand, started in March this year and will go on until December. During this period, the program will contain about 30 events dedicated to various performances from a wide range of different genres including arts, music and literature.

The festival offers performances from for example famous Italian jazz and classical musicians, exhibitions of art pieces and movie screenings. It started with a jazz concert by the Gianluca Petrella and Pasquale Mirra duo and will end with the flute player Gianni Biocotino in December. Special for this year is a music act dedicated to baroque music that will be performed by the Thai-Italian Youth Orchestra, which was founded in 2018.

A multimedia exhibition will be offered from August to October for example an all-round emotional experience where the audience had the opportunity to get a close-up look at world famous paintings by artists like Michelangelo, Leonardo and Raphael. A particular focus was added to Leonardo da Vinci, since it was the 500th anniversary of his death.

The Italian Foreign Ministry also supports and promotes the festival and other events for example the opening of the Fare Cinema in Bangkok in May, the Week of Italian language in October and the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World in November.
