Body of the text: 148 Nations and Organizations (such as the European Union or Onu) will be in Milan to present their ideas and interpretation of the motto "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life".

As underlined by Sigmar Gabriel, German federal minister for economic affairs and energy, "the theme is also part of the Italian way of life as the country is symbolic for outstanding and sustainable healthy food and drink which makes it ideal for this subject".

The German Pavilion will try, on its side, to present the ideas of the Country and of its innovation, under the motto "be active". Germany will thus present herself as vibrant, energetic and dynamic.

The goal is not only to raise awareness on the topic of the exposition but also to encourage visitors to contribute themselves.  The involvement of the civil society is therefore at the heart of the German project.

The German architectural innovative framework of 2680 m2 is a building consisting of a gently sloping landscape level with a freely accessible surface and a thematic exhibition inside. The Pavilion can be explored in two different ways: one route through the exhibition that culminates in the big final show and a route around the pavilion that leads visitors towards a wide ramp to the upper-level landscape, inviting them to stroll and linger.

At the same time, throughout the six months of the exposition, the field of culture will also be at the center of the attention with talents from the field of art, music and film.  The cultural program of the German Pavilion is meant to expresses the activity, creativity and enthusiasm of a multicultural society and to presents Germany's cultural diversity. Between the most expected activities there is the "Interactive Sound experience" but it will be only  part of a bigger and captivating framework. There will be an entertaining program at three venues on the pavilion grounds that is available and constantly updated on the web site.
