News from Berlin - An exhibition on the current economic, urban and cultural development of Chinese cities, at Berlin’s Confucius Institute located at the Freie Universität, is set to close on April 30th (exactly two weeks from today). The exhibition is commemorating the 20th anniversary of the twinning of Berlin and Beijing.

Alongside individual sections on Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin, the main focus is on the current urban creative scene in China, since design, creativity and innovation are factors which contribute to the overall success of cities. Numerous posters, general maps and diagrams which show this multifaceted urban development are also on offer to visitors.

Hamburg University’s Dr. Michael Waibel came up with the concept for the exhibition, which he outlined at its opening night back in February. Nathalie van Looy, Project Manager for the Confucius Institute at the Freie Universität, also greeted visitors at the opening, and visitors should contact her directly, should they have any queries.

There is no entry fee, and the exhibition is taking place at the Konfuzius-Institut Berlin (Freie Universität), Goßlerstraße 2-4, 14195 Berlin (S1, U3, Bus M11, M48 and 101).
