Egyptian Ambassador to Germany Praises Efforts to Digitize Egyptian Heritage
Egypt’s leadership wants to preserve and digitize Egyptian heritage
May 23rd, 2019During a cultural event hosted by the Egyptian embassy in Berlin last week, Amb. Badr Abdel Ati expressed his support for Egypt’s efforts to preserve their heritage, monuments, and culture.
The cultural event was hosted by the Egyptian National Library and Archives, Fayoum University’s Faculty of Archaeology, the German University of Marburg’s Islamic Studies Department and the German foundation of scientific cooperation. Many government officials attended the event, including the German Foreign Ministry and a number of Egyptian and German people.
H. E. Amb. Abdel Ati praised the efforts made by the Egyptian State to improve old and create new technology that will aid in the preservation of monuments, documents, and manuscripts. Additionally, he praised Egyptian-Germany cooperation. Head of the Egyptian National Library and Archives Hesham Azmi explained how countries can learn from each other’s progress in this field and increase their ability to preserve significant cultural landmarks and documents.
