“The Jour de fête” is now a traditional summer event of Berlin. There are open-air concerts, information stands, workshops and food from both France and Germany. It is the perfect place to enjoy fine gastronomy, to listen to your favourite artists and to discover the culture of both countries through fascinating activities. The culture of the French region of Brittany is particularly promoted this year as it is the “Guest-region” of the event.

Workshops include theatre and traditional dance animations. You will also have the opportunity to test your knowledge on the culture of the two countries with a quiz. Workshops for children are organized as well: the make-up stand and the juggle training stand will delight families.

The bands that will perform are the followings: On Saturday: Pupkulies & Rebecca, General Elektriks, Acid Washed, Bagad de Lann-Bihoué (Breton music) and Les Petits Chanteurs de Sainte-Croix de Neuilly - The Paris Boys Choir. On Sunday: Imany, Hypnolove and Andrej Hermin & his swing dance band.

“Deutsch-Französicher Fest 2017” is the perfect occasion to celebrate the French-German friendship, a diplomatic alliance between the two countries that developed within the European construction process. It turns to be particularly important this year as two iconic European figures have recently passed away.

The French feminist and Auschwitz survivor Simone Veil. She was the woman to be the President of European Parliament. And Helmut Kohl the former Chancellor of Germany that led the German reunification and largely contributed to the European integration and the France-Germany friendship.

The event takes place the 15^th of July from 12:00 to 22:30, and the 16^th of July from 12:00 to 21:00. Location: 18. März Platz, Berlin (in front of the Brandenburger Tor). The entrance is free.
