The Embassy of the Republic of Estonia and the Royal Danish Embassy cordially invite you all to a themed evening, entitled, “Dannenbrog 800.” The event will take place on June 26 at 18:00 in the Estonian Embassy.

“Dannenbrog 800” will start with greetings from both Ambassador Dr. Mart Laanemäe of Estonia and Ambassador Friis Arne Petersen of Denmark. Afterwards, Professor Jens E. Olesen will give a presentation on his book titled, Denmark and Estonia 1219-2019 – Selected Studies on Common Relations. The following panel discussion will be moderated by Dr. Matthias Thumser, a professor at Free University of Berlin and the Chairman of the Baltic Historical Commission. The evening will end with wine and light refreshments.

Professor Olesen’s book recounts the 800-year-old relationship between Denmark and Estonia from 1219 until today. Moreover, it presents new scientific findings on the common history of the two countries. 19 different contributors, ranging from Danish, Estonian, and German historians—all experts in either medieval, early, or modern history—aided in providing accurate historical information for this book.

To register for this event, please email embassy.berlin@mfa.ee or call 030-25460602. The event is free and open to all.
