The opera is part of the flemish governmnent’s efforts to promote flemish culture in the world. The opera has been shown in November and will be shown again in December in an effort to reach as many people as possible.

The opera shows a failed ballerina who, like Cinderella, tries to flee her unloving home and go to her only true love. The soprano of the concert will be Nadja Mchantaf and the mezzosoprano Karolina Gumos. The baritone voice will be that of Werner-van-Mechelen, one of the most famous Flemish opera singers.

Van Mechelen’s repertoire varies from baroque operas to Mozart operas like Conte Almaviva, Figaro or Don Alfonso to modern operas like those of Bergs Wozzeck. He concentrates on the German repertoire especially Wagner and Strauss. He has worked with pianists like Jozef de Beenhouwer, Lucas Blondeel und Eric Schneider.

The event will take place in the 19th of December at 20:00 and in the 28th of December at 19:30. It will take place at Komische Oper Berlin at Behrenstraße 55-57, 10117 Berlin.
